On Jonah's Graduation day (May 22, 2008), there was a tornado warning in the district, which means that all the schools go on lock down. No one is allowed in or out, and because of the possibility of a tornado, the students have to hide in bathrooms and closets that don't have windows. So right before graduation (although it was sunny outside) - Jonah's class of 25 kindergarteners had been stuck in a small bathroom for more than 20 minutes.
They didn't seem any worse for the wear : )
There was a tornado that struck the town of Windsor that day (about an hour northeast of here). It was a weird weather day, since the tornado struck before noon, while most tornadoes hit in the late afternoon. The town is still in the process of rebuilding, as many homes were destroyed that day.
